  • What is Intonica?
Intonica is a digital tool for intonation training, so that in addition to music school lessons, you can practice more effectively and with more fun at home.
  • What content is available at Intonica?
Intonica offers digital sheet music and music within an educational concept for intonation training. Your chamber music ensemble at your home. There are 3 modules: 1. Ensemble Module: The core idea behind Intonica is to enable the principle of "learning by playing". We recorded four-part music from a professional string quartet in such a way that users can hide individual voices acoustically and then play them themselves. If two voices are faded out, a quartet can be quickly formed together with the teacher. In addition, each voice can be transposed into the three common keys and octaved into different pitches. With the violin in the bass, with the cello in the soprano. The change of perspective is definitely worth it! At the moment you will find a selection of 17 Bach chorales in different keys to test the principle extensively. If you would like to practice in an even temperament, choose the piano version, for just intonation choose the string version. For an even greater training effect, the pace can also be slowed down to 75% or 50%. In general, our concept is based on auditory learning, so that your own hearing becomes more and more accurate. 2. Chord Module (coming soon): We offer digital scale and scale training. Individual compilation of scales and arpeggios with the high-quality acoustic guardrail. C minor harmonically as a third scale over three octaves? Here we go. 3. Exercise module (coming soon): Here we provide intonation-related exercises in duo, trio and especially in quartet. With a timetable from getting started with the instrument to getting started with chamber music. There are still a lot of ideas for this module, so that a smart sparring partner is gradually being developed.
  • Who is Intonica for?
Intonica is a digital tool for training your intonation. For everyone who wants to get away from the tuner and learn to control their own intonation at a high level by listening! String instrumentalists, brass players, singers - everyone for whom intonation is fundamental. At every level from beginners to students. Intonica is the right thing for you if you want to train your intonation in a structured / focused way with more variety and fun!
  • Where do the recordings at Intonica come from?
We recorded the music in a special recording process with internationally renowned musicians. Stefan Hempel (violin) Ricardo Müller (violin) Simone von Rahden (viola) Daniel Paulich (cello) Carsten Storm (sound engineer)
  • Is there an error feedback?
Not at the moment, and that's on purpose! Good intonation comes from a well-trained ear. Error displays such as on tuners do not improve your skills. Intonica gives you the acoustic barrier you need to learn to form clean harmonies together with other musicians.
  • Can teachers also use the software?
YES! Intonica is complementary to music lessons and can be perfectly integrated into everyday music school life. Intonation training is and remains part of the lesson and Intonica brings a breath of fresh air because students, teachers and the app can do exercises together. In this way, a string quartet can be formed spontaneously between teacher, student and Intonica. It is also possible to improvise a harmonic accompaniment without a piano. In addition, digital aids are considered up-to-date and have a particularly motivating effect on students.
  • On which devices can I use Intonica?
Intonica is a web app and can therefore be used with any browser. The big advantage is that you can use Intonica on any laptop, PC, Mac or tablet! We are still working on a solution for smartphones, as the music display takes up a lot of space. A mobile phone version will probably also appear in the next few months. For faster access, you can create a shortcut or icon on the tablet and desktop, just like an app from the store. • Which browser is best for Intonica?
Intonica generally works on any browser. We have had the best experiences with Chrome: https://www.google.de/chrome/ Safari, on the other hand, can occasionally encounter errors, which is why this browser should be avoided.
  • Who works on Intonica?
Our three-strong founding team (Martin, Paul, Simon) came into being in the environment of the University of Music and Theater and the University of Rostock. A start-up grant gave us the opportunity to work full-time on this great project. We developed the software together with the specialist advice of numerous music teachers, musicians, music theorists and music experts! Thank you for all the support, advice and feedback, and all the support we've had the privilege of receiving so far!
Und dann: Feedback geben Was gefällt, was gefällt nicht?
